Video Documentation of Bal Bhela “Children consultation”of 13 places Completed

The entire process of Bal Bhela documentation (Video) of all 13 places of 9 districts was successfully completed. Four VDC and Four Municipality were selected from Four Earthquake affected districts and other 5 places (VDCs/Mun) were selected from other regular districts. Beyond our programme areas, Bal Bhela of Nawalpur VDC of Sindhupalchowk was also documented. The VDCs of earthquake affected district were selected with the consultation with Creation Society.

The Annual Children’s Consultation meeting “Bal Bhela” of Biratnagar Sub metropolitan city which was also the first meeting after CFLG declaration and fourth in overall was observed different from other places. They conducted Bal Bhela for 3 days whereas other lbs of programme areas conducted Bal Bhela in a single day. 

The entire process of bal bhela i.e body mapping, sketching the picture of likes and dislikes, risk mapping, visioning etc was successfully documented. Similarly, the roles of facilitators who are actually responsible for facilitation of Bal Bhela and other concerned stakeholders such as lbs, line agencies etc was also documented. Also, WCF, IPFC, VDC and City Council meetings of the programme areas were also followed with emphasis on advocacy of mainstreaming children’s voice in local planning and budgeting processes. It was observed that most of the lbs of the programme areas have incorporated the demands of children as it is selected through Bal Bhela.
